Built for people who know value when they see it

EstateScan was built out of a simple frustration: estate sales are full of genuinely valuable items that get sold for a fraction of their worth because the sellers don't know what they have.

We built an AI system to level that playing field — giving resellers, collectors, and dealers a way to know which sales are worth attending and what to look for when they get there.

Currently serving

St. Louis region — we scan estate sale listings across the St. Louis metro area every week, covering sales in Chesterfield, Clayton, Webster Groves, Kirkwood, South County, West County, and surrounding areas.

We're a beta product. More cities are planned as we grow. If you'd like to see EstateScan in your city, let us know.

01

We scan every photo

Our AI analyzes every image from estate sale listings on EstateSales.net — room shots, close-ups, and preview photos — before sales open to the public.

02

Items get identified and valued

Each flagged item is identified as specifically as possible — brand, model, era — and cross-referenced against recent sold prices for a conservative market estimate.

03

You get a curated report

Before the sale opens, you see exactly which sales have the most potential and what to look for. At the sale, the detail page gives you everything you need on your phone.

Who EstateScan is for

EstateScan is designed for anyone who regularly attends estate sales looking for value:

How the analysis works

Our system uses AI vision models trained to recognize collectibles, vintage items, and specialty goods commonly found at estate sales. When we scan a photo, the AI identifies every potentially valuable item visible and cross-references it against market data to produce a conservative value estimate.

We report results at two confidence levels:

Lower confidence items are reviewed separately and are not included in the main report to keep results focused and actionable.

Spirits and alcohol

Vintage spirits — bourbon, scotch, whisky — are not sold on eBay and require specialist pricing sources. When our system identifies a potentially valuable bottle, we flag it for specialist valuation and direct you to Unicorn Auctions, Wine-Searcher, or Whisky Auctioneer for current market pricing rather than providing a potentially inaccurate estimate.

Limitations

Important: All item values displayed are estimates based on available market data and historical sales. Actual resale values may vary significantly and are not guaranteed. EstateScan is not a licensed appraisal service. Our estimates are for general research purposes only and should not be the sole basis for purchasing decisions.

Other limitations to be aware of:

Data and privacy

Estate sale photos are downloaded from public listings, used for analysis, and automatically deleted within 14 days. We do not permanently store photos of private residences. For full details on how we handle data, see our Privacy Policy.
